6th June Bali Waves. This is my most popular class. Perfect for absolute beginners and  the perfect project for those who have completed Quilting for Terrified. It can be made with a jelly roll if you don't fancy much rotary cutting or want to take the headache out of choosing co-ordinating fabrics.

All classes are held in Pink Scissors Fabric, 9.30 set up for 10.00 start, finish at 15.00 and cost £35. Materials are not included. Your place is secured when I receive the full payment. It is non refundable unless the class is cancelled or I can resell your place. I will send you a requirements list. You'll get full written instructions to take home and you're welcome to message me if you're not sure about anything. 

 

18th June Log Cabin, a traditional yet really versatile block. You can make a few for a cushion or table runner or make more at home for a quilt. The hardest part is deciding how to arrange these beautiful blocks. Full

 

27th June  Folded Pinwheel Cushion with prairie point edge. Made from 9 10"squares from a layer cake and a plain background , this pretty cushion covers with full instructing of you need to finish it at home. 3 spaces. 

 

9th July Quilting Carryall part 1. Quilted pockets for your favourite rulers and an a2 cutting mat. Plenty of room for scissors, rotary cutter, pins clips and whatever else you need for a class. Zips secure the sides so there'll be room for fabric and patterns too. Today we'll work on the pockets and attach them to the inside of the bag. We'll make a start on handles and zips of there's enough time. 2 places left. 

 

14th July Finish my Quilt. So you've made a quilt top. It might be fresh off the sewing machine or have been stuck in the back of a wardrobe for years but you're just not sure what to do next. In this class I'll show you how to layer, quilt, trim and bind your quilt top.You'll learn what the differences between waddings are, so you'll be able to choose the best one for your project. You probably won't finish your quilt on the day but you'll know how to and have the confidence to do it. 2 places left. 

 

23rd July Quilting Carryall pat 2. Today we'll add the zips and handles, and attach the outside to the inside. A little rostock to finish and we're done.2 places left. 

 

30th July Checkered Dresden. I made this for my in laws a couple of years ago. Such a pretty quilt, perfect for using your scraps. A little experience would be useful if you're considering this class. If you've done Quilting for the Terrified or Bali Waves then you'll be fine. You can expect to finish one block on the day but as always you'll have full written instructions to take home to complete your project. 5 places left. 

 

13th August Applique wool cushion make a comfy cushion with the design of your choice in felt or cotton applique. Great to give a a gift but even better to keep. Be warned, they can be addictive. 5 places left. 

 

18th August Ruler Quilting for the Terrified. You've made a few quilt tops but you're worried you'll spoil them with the quilting. If you've tried free motion but struggle to get it even then ruler quilting may be the answer. I'll bring a selection of makes and shapes of rulers for you to try. You'll need a ruler foot and a few fabric and wadding sandwiches to practise on. You'll also make a sewing machine tidy with one of your practice pieces. 2 places left. 

 

August 27th Quilting for the Terrified part 1 . Always fancied learning to quilt but didn't know where to start? Come out in a sweat at the thought of rotary cutting? Can't decide what fabrics should go where, or even what colours to choose? This is the course you've been waiting for. We'll be making a nine patch tote bag over two days, with loads of tips, tricks and strategies for choosing fabrics and threads, rotary cutting technique, starting to stitch and basic quilting, all the time, gaining confidence 5 places left. 

 

September 8th "Croeso" the Welsh word for welcome. This is a quilt designed for complete beginners, although those with experience are also welcome. Using a layer cake and strips  you'll make this easy quilt top in class. You'll get full written instructions to take home. I'll be running another "finish my quilt" class in October if you need a hand to layer, quilt and bind it. 4 places left. 

 

September 17th Quilting for the Terrified part 2

Today you'll finish your tote bags. 5 places left. 

 

Date TBA Triangles for the Terrified part 1. Don't know a hst from a qst? Petrified of pinwheels? Scared of stars? This course will give you the knowledge and confidence to get to grips with one of the most versatile element of quilting. On the first day we’ll get to grips with half square triangles (hst) and make a few different blocks with them. I'll ask you to make a few more of each before the next class. 5 places left.

 

Date TBA Triangles for the Terrified part 2. On the second part of this course we'll tackle qst (quarter square triangles) and make a few blocks with them. With the rows of blocks you made in the last session we'll add sashing, start assembling your quilt top and plan the borders. 5 Places left.

Date TBA Sashing and Borders for the terrified. So, you've made a bunch of beautiful blocks but you're not sure how to assemble them into a quilt top. This is the class for you. We'll look at different ways of setting your blocks using sashing and cornerstones. You'll learn how to measure borders and mitre corners and I'll bring some quilts along so you can see a variety of sashing and borders. You can still come if you haven't got finished blocks, just bring a charm pack or layer cake
