Description

All classes are held in Pink Scissors Fabric, 9.30 set up for 10.00 start, finish at 15.00 and cost £35. Materials are not included. Your place is secured when I receive the full payment. It is non refundable unless the class is cancelled or I can resell your place. I will send you a requirements list. You'll get full written instructions to take home and you're welcome to message me if you're not sure about anything.  

September 8th "Croeso" the Welsh word for welcome. This is a quilt designed for complete beginners, although those with experience are also welcome. Using a layer cake and strips  you'll make this easy quilt top in class. You'll get full written instructions to take home. Full.

September 17th Finish my quilt. So you've made a quilt top. It might be fresh off the sewing machine or have been stuck in the back of a wardrobe for years but you're just not sure what to do next. In this class I'll show you how to layer, quilt, trim and bind your quilt top.You'll learn what the differences between waddings are, so you'll be able to choose the best one for your project. You probably won't finish your quilt on the day but you'll know how to and have the confidence to do it.  4 places left

8th October Jelly roll quilted jacket. I've been meaning to make a quilted jacket for a couple of years and finally got round to it.  You'll need some basic sewing skills for this one.  It's a simple, lined edge to edge jacket with jelly roll strips for the outer layer. You'll need to buy the pattern, Suzanne has them in stock. If you're not a confident dressmaker I would suggest attending one of Sheila Kelly's  classes to assemble the jacket  -  details of dates and prices available on the Pink Scissors website. She will also offer a fitting service (measure you and advise on the right size to use) for £10. 1 place left 

 October 20th Quilting for the Terrified part 1 Always fancied learning to quilt but didn't know where to start? Come out in a sweat at the thought of rotary cutting? Can't decide what fabrics should go where, or even what colours to choose? This is the course you've been waiting for. We'll be making a nine patch tote bag over two days, with loads of tips, tricks and strategies for choosing fabrics and threads, rotary cutting technique, starting to stitch and basic quilting, all the time, gaining confidence 4 places left.

22nd October Quilting Carryall part 1.
Suitable for improving beginners. Today we'll start with the pockets and zips on this useful bag. There'll be a little homework. 3 places left. 

November 3rd Quilting for the Terrified part 2
Today you'll finish your tote bags. 4 places left.

12th November Frosty Cushion
Suitable for beginners but fun for those with more experience.  Come and make this delightful cushion using fusible applique. You should finish this project on the day. Payment of the class fee of £35 will secure your place, non refundable unless the class is cancelled or I can resell your place. Materials not included.  Message me to book. 4 places. 

26th November Quilting Carryall part 2
Today we'll attach the pockets, handles and zips and assemble this useful bag. 3 places left.
